I have known Chris Gorringe since the early 1970s when we played squash against each other, so I read this book (written with Jo Russell) with considerable interest, mostly because it is a book I never expected to appear. But for those interested in the development of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, for whom I have worked for 34 years, and of the Wimbledon Championships, this proves a fascinating read about the inside stories of happenings on and off the court. Tennis politics played a large part in his life; but his genial appearance as the Club's mouth-piece earned him much praise for keeping calm when others might have appeared to panic. In hardboards and dust-wrapper with 272 pages.
Published in June 2009, I can offer unsigned copies, and copies signed by Chris Gorringe, both at £15 UK post free or plus £5 Worldwide airmail.
