This is a magnificent new title on the fabric of Centre Court, its design and building in 1920/21, its opening in 1922 and the many great matches that have been played there since. John Barrett and Ian Hewitt, two Wimbledon stalwarts, have produced a very memorable and desirable book that will continue to appeal to tennis and Wimbledon historians.

The multiple champions since 1992 are featured with brief biogs and reproductions of contemporary newspaper reports.  

It is beautifully illustrated with many early photographs showing all the great champions from Bill Tilden and Suzanne Lenglen to Rafael Nadal and Venus Williams. There are views of the press side, the inside of the club itself, and views of various stages of the installation of the sliding roof.
