Abe Segal's hilarious and hectic travels round the world to play tennis; £20 +PP
Segal has long been one of the most amusing and talented of tennis players, a character around whom things are seldom quiet. At his peak for South Africa in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, not only was he good singles player (last 8 at Wimbledon) he was also a great exponent of the Men's Doubles game, accumulating many Davis Cup victories, as well as a raft of other events. He was most often partnered with fellow author Gordon Forbes, with whom he enjoyed many lengthy trips away from home playing in most countries of the world. His book is a long series of anecdotes describing happenings both on and off the court, with a wide range of well known celebrities from show business and tennis. The book is very well illustrated with photos, and he has had the good fortune to colaborate on this book with Deborah Curtis-Setchell.
