THE EDUCATION OF A TENNIS PLAYER by Rod Laver with

Updated to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his Grand Slam; at £15 plus postage

Laver is still considered by many tennis pundits to be just about the greatest male tennis player of the last 50 years, though where that leaves Sampras and Federer I am not too sure! But it was 40 years ago he won that amazing Grand Slam and so the book is republished to celebrate that event.

Bud Collins, who was the original author back in 1971, has revisited his subject and penned an additional interview chapter with Rod, who talks most frankly about the stroke and its aftermath, as he slowly rediscovered the ability to speak, walk and then play tennis and golf again.

Rod's frank comments about his fellow tennis players and the style of life on the tennis circuit in those days are quite revealing.

Published by New Chapter Press in the USA in paperback only with 281 pages, this book is offered at £15 plus postage.
